Classic E30, E36 & E46 Applications

Earlier BMW 3 Series applications use different filters depending on chassis, engine, and factory airbox. FB117/01, FB121/01, or FB132/01 may apply to compatible vehicles.

FB479/20, FB494/20, FB518/08, FB630/20, FB677/08 & FB730/20

E8X 1 Series & E9X 3 Series

E8X and E9X applications use different filters for N52, N54, N55, N20, and diesel engines. Select the filter using the complete engine and BMW OEM reference.

FB702/20, FB740/20 & FB928/20

F20/F21 1 Series & F22/F23 2 Series

Compatible F20/F21 and F22/F23 models use different filters based on their four-cylinder, six-cylinder, and M Performance engine configurations.

F-chassis 3 and 4 Series applications can use FB702/20, FB740/20, or FB928/20 depending on engine family, production information, and factory airbox.

F40 1 Series & F44 2 Series Gran Coupe

FB01091 serves compatible M135i, M235i Gran Coupe, and 128ti applications. Other compatible transverse-platform BMW models may use FB813/01.

G42 2 Series, G20/G21 3 Series & G22/G23/G26 4 Series

FB01054 fits compatible current-generation models including select M240i, M340i, and M440i applications, along with other supported gasoline, diesel, and hybrid configurations.

Fitment note: BMW reused similar model names across different chassis and engines. A 335i, M340i, M235i, or M240i does not automatically use the same filter as another generation of the same model. Confirm the chassis, engine, production information, BMC part number, and BMW OEM reference before ordering.

Does this collection include BMW M Performance models?

Yes. This collection includes compatible M135i, M235i, M240i, M340i, and M440i applications. Full M2, M3, and M4 models should also be checked against the dedicated BMW M collection.

Which BMC filter fits a G42 M240i, G20 M340i, or G22 M440i?

BMC FB01054 fits compatible current-generation M240i, M340i, and M440i applications. Verify the complete vehicle and BMW OEM reference before ordering.

Do all BMW 135i and 335i models use the same BMC filter?

No. BMW 135i and 335i applications can use different filters depending on N54 or N55 engine fitment, chassis, production information, and factory airbox configuration.

Why are several BMC filters listed for F-chassis BMW models?

F-chassis 1, 2, 3, and 4 Series models were offered with multiple gasoline, diesel, and M Performance engines. Those applications do not all use the same factory airbox or replacement filter.

Does a replacement BMC filter require engine tuning?

Engine tuning is generally not required when a compatible BMC filter is installed as a direct replacement inside the original BMW airbox. Additional intake or engine modifications may have different tuning requirements.

Can BMW BMC replacement filters be cleaned and reused?

Yes. BMC filters are washable and reusable when serviced correctly. Use the proper BMC cleaning and re-oiling products, allow the filter to dry completely, and avoid over-oiling before installation.
