Earlier BMW 5, 7, and 8 Series applications use different filters depending on chassis, engine, and factory airbox. FB117/01 or FB118/01 may apply to compatible vehicles.

FB102/01, FB269/01 & FB305/01

BMW E38 & Earlier V8/V12 Applications

Select older BMW V8, V12, and 7 Series applications can use FB102/01, FB269/01, or FB305/01 depending on the specific engine and BMW OEM reference.

Does this collection include BMW M Performance models?

Yes. This collection includes compatible M550i, M760Li, and M850i applications. Full M5, M6, and M8 models should also be checked against the dedicated BMW M collection.

Which BMC filter fits a G30 BMW 5 Series?

BMC FB929/20 fits select G30 and G31 BMW 5 Series applications. Other engines, including certain V8 models, use different filters, so complete fitment must be verified.

Are FB01073 and FB930/01 interchangeable?

No. FB01073 and FB930/01 cover different BMW models, engines, production periods, and factory airbox configurations. Confirm the BMW OEM reference before selecting either product.

Why are several BMC filters listed for the F10 BMW 5 Series?

The F10 5 Series was offered with different gasoline, diesel, six-cylinder, V8, and M Performance engines. Those applications do not all use the same factory airbox or replacement filter.

Does a replacement BMC filter require engine tuning?

Engine tuning is generally not required when a compatible BMC filter is installed as a direct replacement inside the original BMW airbox. Additional intake or engine modifications may have different tuning requirements.

Can BMW BMC replacement filters be cleaned and reused?

Yes. BMC filters are washable and reusable when serviced correctly. Use the proper BMC cleaning and re-oiling products, allow the filter to dry completely, and avoid over-oiling before installation.
